Wizard’s Fifth Rule

I’m the kind of person that takes people’s words to heart.  If someone says they’ll do something, I generally expect them to honour their words.  More than once I’ve had my eyes opened to the fact that not everyone does what they say they will do.  Maybe I’m too trusting? Perhaps I’m naive?

The book I’m reading, Soul of the Fire, also introduces this in a concept called Wizard’s Fifth Rule

Wizard’s Fifth Rule states:

“Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie”

More simply put:

“Actions speak louder than words”

This concept has come up several times in my life recently, so I decided see if others out there had thoughts surrounding this.

Discuss.
